Now ponds come in different sizes and designs. If you're considering building one in your home, consider adding backyard ponds fish.

Keeping fish in your pond offers many benefits. Aside from being close to nature, a fish pond also invites other animals into your yard. It is also a good way of teaching your children about nature.

There are several options for you to choose from. The most popular types of backyard ponds fish are goldfish, comets, and the koi.
Goldfish are one of the most popular pond fish. Why? That's because goldfish are very easy to manage. They are suitable for any size of pond. There are different types of goldfish to choose from including the fantails and orandas.

Fantails are fat-bodied goldfish with long flowing tails and various colors. Fantails are great in water gardens but they do not do well when placed along with comets or koi. Orandas look like fantails and they are usually distinguished by their head growth.

Comets are another type of goldfish. They are the typical orange-colored gold fish which you often see at the pet store although they may also come off being colored closet to pure white. Comets are the hardiest among the back yard pond fish. They can be mixed with other goldfish and koi. Comets are also the least expensive of all the pond fish.
